Reactions are trailing the revocation of the PDP National Secretariat land in Abuja by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The Middle-Belt Journals gathered, that the revocation, which was authorized by Wike, was due to the PDP’s failure to pay ground rent for over 20 years, amounting to a significant debt.
The move has sparked mixed reactions, with some analysts believing it could heighten tensions within the PDP, particularly among those who have accused Wike of aligning with the ruling APC at the expense of his former party.
Others argue that Wike is simply implementing existing laws and cracking down on long-standing financial irregularities in Abuja’s land administration.
The PDP is yet to issue an official response to the revocation notice. However, the development is expected to deepen the existing rift within the party, given Wike’s past ties to the PDP and his current position as FCT Minister.
Recall, that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has recently approved revocation of 4,794 land titles, over non-payment of Ground Rent, for more than 40 years.
