A chieftain of the People’s Demonstrate Party and Philanthropist Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has written to formally convey resignation from the People’s Demonstrate Party PDP with immediate effect.
In a letter dated 4th April, 2026, addressed to the Chairman PDP Usuma Ward, Bwari Area Council FCT Abuja, Dr. Hashim highlighted that the party has been embroiled in persistent and unending crises for over a year, leading to its complete factionalization into dominant groups.
Dr. Gbenga Hashim who personally undertook numerous efforts alongside other well-meaning leaders to bridge the division and restore unity within the party said the efforts made did not yield the desired results.
Though Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim hasn’t announced his plans, but political observers believe he’s leaning toward the Accord Party, which is building strength in the South West.
