Chief Dr. Amos Gizo, Chairman of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority and Coordinating Chairman of the 12 River Basin Chairmen Forum, has extended warm felicitations to Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), on his second anniversary in office.
In a statement signed by the Amos Gizo Media and information Resource center on Sunday on June 8, 2025, Dr Gizo expressed gratitude to God Almighty for guiding Senator Akume’s tenure and commended his exemplary performance in driving progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Dr. Gizo highlighted Senator Akume’s competency and capacity, noting that he has been an invaluable asset to Nigeria and the President’s administration.
“We commend Senator Akume ‘s exceptional leadership in coordinating government policies and reform agendas, particularly in driving critical reforms such as tax policies that have boosted revenue generation”.
His oversight of Federal Government Agencies has ensured efficiency and effective governance” the statement added.
Dr. Gizo described Senator Akume’s appointment as SGF as a “round peg in a round hole,” expressing confidence that he will continue to make significant contributions to the nation, particularly in the North-Central region.
Dr. Gizo prayed for Senator Akume’s continued success, bringing more dividends of democracy to the people, and looked forward to more service delivery and impactful governance in the remaining years of his tenure.
