Plateau State Government Secures Funding for Jos Abattoir Reconstruction

In a significant milestone, the Plateau State Government has secured funding for the remodeling and reconstruction of the Jos Abattoir. This project falls under the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (LPRES) initiative.

The Middle-Belt Journals gathered, that Governor Caleb Mutfwang has given the green light for the project’s immediate commencement, with construction set to begin in February 2025. This development is a result of strategic engagements in Abuja.

The reconstructed abattoir aims to modernize the livestock value chain, ensuring enhanced food safety and creating economic opportunities for local farmers and butchers. This initiative aligns with the administration’s vision for a more productive and sustainable agricultural sector, contributing to the state’s economic growth and development.
