The book launch of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s autobiography, “A Journey in Service,” was a star-studded event attended by notable figures such as President Bola Tinubu, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and ex-Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Other prominent guests included former Head of State Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
The event also featured significant donations to the IBB Presidential Library project.

Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, donated a whopping N5 billion, while Gen TY Danjuma pledged N3 billion. Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, made a remarkable commitment of N2 billion annually for the next four years, with the possibility of extending his support until the library’s completion.
During the launch, former President Goodluck Jonathan praised Babangida, stating that Nigeria’s history would be incomplete without acknowledging his contributions.
Jonathan described Babangida as “one of the most charismatic leaders in this country,” noting that people still seek his counsel to this day.
Former Head of State Yakubu Gowon also expressed his gratitude to Babangida, thanking him for restoring his rank and honor. Gowon acknowledged Babangida’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s development.
