In response to recent violent attacks and breaches of peace in some communities within Lamurde Local Government Area, Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the area with immediate effect.
According to a statement signed by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the curfew aims to restore peace and order in the affected area.
Governor Fintiri warned that anyone or group of people found contravening the directive will be arrested and dealt with according to the law.
The Governor has directed security agencies to enforce the curfew strictly and maintain law and order in the area.
Residents are urged to abide by the curfew and provide useful information to security agencies to ensure peaceful coexistence.
Governor Fintiri emphasized the Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
He appealed to residents of Lamurde Local Government Area to shun rumor-mongering and cooperate with security agencies to restore normalcy to the area.
The curfew will remain in effect until further notice.
