The Special Envoy to the Executive Governor of Plateau State on Peace and Security, Prof. Chris Kwaja, has emphasized the need for sustained proactiveness in gathering intelligence to ensure a peaceful society in Jos North and the entire state.
He made the call on Wednesday while addressing the Jos North Security Council ahead of the forthcoming Eid El-Fitr Sallah Celebrations.

He emphasized that this approach would enable security agencies to identify and mitigate potential security threats before they escalate.
The Special Envoy On Peace and security also commended the Executive Chairman of Jos North LGA, Barr. J.K Chris, for his bridge-building efforts and noted that Barr. Chris’s efforts have contributed significantly to promoting peace and unity among Various Communities.
Prof. Kwaja further appreciated Governor Caleb Mutfwang for creating an enabling environment that allows local government chairmen to initiate peace efforts. He stated that this support is vital in empowering local leaders to take proactive steps in promoting peace and security in their domains.
He advised security agencies to leverage their relationships with communities in designing and implementing a whole-of-society approach to peace and security.
Prof. Kwaja, emphasized that this approach recognizes that peace and security are not solely the responsibility of security agencies but require the active participation and engagement of the entire community.
The executive chairman of Jos North Council area, Barr. J.K Chris, also spoke at the meeting, calling for unity among citizens, transcending faith, ethnicity, and political divides.
He promised to sustain current efforts to ensure lasting peace in the among Various communities and appealed for unity among all people.
Security operatives present at the meeting pledged to carry out their duties in accordance with operational guidelines, warning mischief makers to desist or face the law.
