The Christian community in Nigeria is in mourning following the sudden death of Rev. Azzaman David, a respected cleric and Christian faith advocate, in a ghastly motor accident on Saturday.
Rev. Azzaman, the leading pastor of The King Worship Chapel and Ministry, Inc. in Kaduna, Kaduna State, was on his way back from Makurdi, Benue State, when the incident occurred.
According to a source close to the family, Rev. Mohammed Mohammed, Rev. Azzaman passed away at the scene. “REV Azzaman Azzaman had an accident on his way back from Makurdi.
He died alone in the car. May he rest in peace. May the Lord comfort us in the name of Jesus,” Rev. Mohammed said in a post on Facebook.
Rev. Azzaman was widely recognized for his deep knowledge of Christian theology and unwavering defense of the faith in public discourse. His social media presence, especially on Facebook, made him a notable figure among young Christians and religious scholars.
He often drew large audiences during his live video sessions and written exchanges, engaging Muslim scholars and atheist thinkers on matters of faith and doctrine.
Rev. Azzaman’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes across the country, with Many describing him as a fearless voice, a mentor, and a passionate preacher of the Gospel.
“A great soldier of the Lord takes a bow and goes home to wear his crown of glory after having fought a good fight of faith!” Mustapha Mushas wrote on Facebook.
“This is a huge loss to the body of Christ. Rev. Azzaman stood firm in the face of opposition and taught us how to engage with truth and grace,” wrote another Facebook user.
Rev. Azzaman is survived by his wife and children. Funeral arrangements are yet to be officially announced.
