ECWA Members Protest At Headquarters, Demand Reversal Of Split Kano DCC

Protesters from Kano on Monday have gathered at the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, to express their dissatisfaction with how the church leadership is handling the crisis within the Kano District Church Council (DCC).

The protesters who were denied access to the Headquarters compound claim that the church’s approach to resolving the conflict has been inadequate, leading to their decision to stage a demonstration.

The protesters, who traveled from Kano to Jos, are demanding action from the ECWA leadership to address their concerns and find a resolution to the crisis.

They argue that the current situation within the Kano DCC requires urgent attention and that the church’s leadership has not done enough to resolve the issues.

The protest highlights the deep-seated concerns within the Kano DCC and the need for the ECWA leadership to engage with the protesters and find a solution to the crisis.

The outcome of the protest and the church’s response will likely have significant implications for the ECWA and its relationship with its members in Kano.

However, ECWA President Dr. Ayuba Bagat has stated that the protesters were denied entrance to the ECWA Headquarters in Jos because they failed to follow the proper procedures for submitting their petition or grievances.

He disclosed, that he cannot reverse the decision of the General Council of ECWA regarding the split of the Kano District Church Council (DCC).

According to Dr. Bagat, the issue was previously discussed with the affected parties, but no agreement was reached.

Dr. Bagat emphasized that the reversal of the decision to split the Kano ECWA DCC can only be done by the General Church Council, which is the highest governing body of the church.

This implies that the matter is beyond the president’s authority to resolve and requires a higher-level decision-making process.
