Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State today presented the Staff of Office to Gubo Johnson Diyo Matalo, marking a historic milestone as the first Gubo Yungur in Dumne.
The ceremony solidifies the Yungur Chiefdom’s establishment, a move that aligns with Fintiri’s administration’s commitment to justice, equity, and cultural heritage.
During the presentation, Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of unity, justice, security, and economic growth in the region, while urging HRH Gubo Matalo to harness the area’s vast economic potential, promoting peace and unity among all ethnic and religious groups within the chiefdom.
Fintiri’s administration has been proactive in creating new chiefdoms and emirates, demonstrating its dedication to fulfilling campaign promises. The governor’s commitment to merit-based selections was evident in the appointment of seven new chiefs and emirs for the recently created chiefdoms and emirates.
As HRH Gubo Matalo begins his tenure, he pledged to lead the Yungur Chiefdom with justice, humility, and the fear of God.
The establishment of the Yungur Chiefdom is a significant step towards recognizing the region’s unique identity and promoting development in Adamawa State.
