Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called for continued resilience and unity to overcome the scars of insurgency, saying “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.
The Governor made the call when he paid an Easter homage to the Palace of His Royal Highness, Mbege Ka Michika, Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga, in Michika Local Government Area.
He admonished the people to continue to remain resilient and work together, stressing that his commitment to rebuilding communities and restoring hope.
“We have the will and the capacity to deliver more dividends of democracy,” he added. “We must ensure that the heinous crimes committed by insurgents are erased from the memories of our children. Our collective resilience will heal our land.”
The Governor thanked the monarch for the warm reception and assured him of his commitment to continued to contribute his quota for the development every community in Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri, also reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to collaborate with traditional institutions and local communities to deepen peace, expand development, and plant seeds of prosperity across Adamawa State.
In his remarks, the revered monarch, Prof. Luka Gadiga, lauded Governor Fintiri’s transformative leadership in the state saying the state is lucky to have him as the leader.
The Monarch praised Governor Fintiri’s infrastructural development which cuts across roads to hospitals, schools, empowerment programmes which has greatly impacted the state.
He assured the Governor of the continuous support of his Chiefdom and the entire people of Michika.
He further called on community leaders to stay vigilant and urged the youth to embrace agriculture as the rainy season approaches.
“May God shield you and protect you from your enemies,” the monarch prayed.
