BREAKING News: GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED SIGNS INTO LAW THE BILL ENACTING ZAAR CHIEFDOM, 3 OTHER BILLS IN BAUCHI STATE

The Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has assented to four bills at the Government House chamber, surrounded by State House of Assembly members, Executive Council members, Chairmen of the 20 Local Government Councils, and other dignitaries.

The bills signed into law include:

  1. Bauchi State Chieftaincy Appointment and Deposition Law
  2. Law to repeal the Sayawa Chiefdom Law and enact the Zaar Chiefdom Law
  3. Law to establish Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme
  4. Appropriation Supplementary Act 2025

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, who led principal officers to the Government House, stated that all bills underwent thorough legislative processes aimed at driving sustainable growth and development.

Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized that the laws align with the aspirations of Bauchi State people, particularly communities seeking self-actualization as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He commended the State Assembly members for their support and accelerated hearing of the bills, urging continued partnership.

The Governor listed the new Emirates and their headquarters, directing the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice to ensure full implementation of the laws. He warned that any individual or group disrupting peace would face decisive action.

The development has sparked widespread jubilation among the Zaar people of Bauchi State, with other Middle-Belt communities joining in solidarity to celebrate this milestone.
