A high-power delegation from Plateau State, led by the esteemed Emir of Wase, Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, have paid a condolence visit to the Zazzau Emirates in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The delegation aimed to commiserate with the government and people of Kaduna State, the Emir of Zazzau, and the families of those who lost loved ones in the tragic mob incident in Mangun, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
During the visit, the Emir of Wase emphasized the importance of maintaining the cordial relationship between Plateau State, Kaduna State, and the Zazzau Emirates, urging the people not to let the incident undermine their bond.
He offered prayers for the souls of the deceased and healing for those who sustained injuries. Notably, the Emir disclosed that twenty-two suspects had been arrested by security agencies in connection with the incident.
The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the delegation’s safe journey and advocated for tolerance, peace, and mutual respect among people, regardless of ethnic or religious differences.
He also urged the media to promote peaceful coexistence rather than escalating tensions.
On behalf of the affected family, Yakubu Yusuf conveyed their sadness over the loss of their loved ones and thanked the delegation for their visit. He appealed to the Plateau State government to provide assistance to those who lost their breadwinners.
The Emir of Zazzau, however called for peace and calm among the people, stressing that such incidents should not recur in the 21st century.
The visit concluded with prayers offered to Allah for the repose of the souls of those who died, reaffirming the commitment to peaceful coexistence and unity between the two states.
