The Chief Imam of Jos Central Mosque, Sheikh Ghazali Ismaila Adam, has commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration for its notable achievements over the past two years.
Speaking with journalists after a special Juma’t prayers marking the administration’s second anniversary, Sheikh Adam urged the government to continue implementing policies that benefit the people.
“We congratulate the Government of Plateau State for its two years in office,” Sheikh Adam said. “We appreciate the administration’s efforts and call on the government to sustain its initiatives that benefit the people.”
The Chief Imam emphasized the need to address poverty to promote peace and stability, saying, “There is a need to look deep and address the issue of poverty to reduce hardship for peace and stability.”
He also called on citizens to give maximum support and cooperation to the administration.
Sheikh Adam likened the importance of praying for leaders to a bus driver and passengers on a journey, stating, “The line of prayers by the passengers for the driver will ultimately determine the outcome of the journey.”
He further urged citizens to be law-abiding and tolerant, saying, “We must abide by all laws and accommodate each other irrespective of our religious backgrounds.”
The Chief Imam also admonished the Muslim Ummah to invite their Christian friends to celebrate Eid-el Kabir.
Earlier, Hon. Muhammed Salihu Nyalum, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, who representing Governor Mutfwang, expressed gratitude to God and the Muslim Ummah for their support. “We are here to pray to God for His mercies to this government,” he said.
“The Ummah appreciates the government for the relative peace we are enjoying, and we believe we can sustain it to take Plateau State to greater heights.”
The Emir of Kanam, HRH Mua’zu Muhammed, praised the administration’s comprehensive attention to all sectors and attributed its successes to synergy between the Governor and stakeholders.
“A lot of giant strides have been taken by this administration in infrastructure, health, agriculture, and transportation,” he said.
The Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, commended Governor Mutfwang’s leadership style, saying the local governments have never had it so good under this administration.
He also praised the Governor for fostering unity and inclusiveness.
