Nigerian music legend Eedris Abdulkareem has praised Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for what he described as a remarkable turnaround in governance and infrastructure within just two years in office.
In a video broadcast, the iconic rapper commended Mutfwang for restoring public trust and peace in Plateau State, despite lingering security challenges in some parts of the state.
According to Abdulkareem, Mutfwang’s leadership has brought a renewed sense of hope to citizens who had long lost faith in government due to years of unfulfilled promises and ethno-religious crises.
He highlighted the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance, peacebuilding, and infrastructural development, describing them as “practical steps toward correcting the mistakes of his predecessors.
“Despite the skirmishes and targeted killings in some communities, Mutfwang has remained focused on his promises to the people. He is not playing the old politics of ‘winner takes all’. He has brought fairness, equity, and justice to Plateau State,” the artist said.
Abdulkareem listed several road construction and rehabilitation projects completed under Mutfwang’s administration, noting that over 30 roads within Jos metropolis have been delivered in just two years.
These road projects, he said, have improved mobility, connected communities, and unlocked new economic opportunities for residents.
Among the roads mentioned were the Utonkon-Nunku-Keana 5.6km road with a spur to Abattoir, the nine-span Flyover Bridge on Utonkon-Nunku-Keana Road, Hope Road, Lands and Survey Road, Liberty Boulevard-Gold & Base Road, Living Faith Hill Road, Building Materials-Open University Road, ATMN DB. Zang Road, Plateau Roundabout-CBN Road, West of Mines Road, Ahmadu Bello Road, Kashim Ibrahim Road, and Rhino Golf Club Road.
“This is no small feat. These are real projects that people can see and benefit from. Mutfwang is delivering beyond expectations,” Abdulkareem stated.
The legendary artist’s recent visit to Plateau was facilitated by Joe B Entertainment, a Jos-based entertainment outfit known for promoting local talent and attracting national attention to the state.
Joe B, who has hosted several big-name artists in Plateau over the past decade, also praised the governor for creating an enabling environment for the entertainment industry to flourish.
“Governor Mutfwang’s administration has been a blessing to entertainers and all Plateau citizens,” Joe B said.
During his visit, Abdulkareem was taken to the Jos Main Market, which was destroyed by fire. Deeply moved by the plight of traders affected by the incident, he donated over ₦1 million in cash to support the victims.
“It was the least I could do to ease their pain,” Abdulkareem said, adding that his visit opened his eyes to the resilience and vibrancy of the Plateau people.
Eedris Abdulkareem expressed optimism that the next two years of Governor Mutfwang’s administration would bring even greater transformation, urging citizens to remain supportive and united for the progress of the state.
“The absence of ethno-religious crises today is not by accident. It is the result of consistent and intentional leadership. This is the kind of leadership Nigeria needs at all levels,” he added.
