Middle-Belt Group Rebuffs VDM’s Allegations Against Gov. Mutfwang, Questions His Mental Health

PRESS RELEASE

The attention of the Cultural Middle Belt Renaissance Forum (CMRF) has been drawn to a deeply irresponsible and inflammatory video released by one self-styled social media influencer known as Very Dark Man (VDM), in which he launched a vicious and utterly baseless attack on one of our well respected leader, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, the Political leader of the Middle-Belt Region.

In the video, VDM called the Governor a “disgrace” and “an embarrassment” for the administration’s decision to launch an investigation into the recent incident involving the alleged poisoning of cows.

He further made reckless, misleading, and inciting claims that the Governor was pandering to Fulani interests and doing nothing about the tragic killings in Bokkos and Bassa local government areas.

Let it be stated, without equivocation, that these claims are FALSE, MALICIOUS, and DEVOID OF ANY TRUTH. Governor Mutfwang has shown rare courage, compassion, and steadfastness in navigating one of the most complex security challenges in Nigeria today.

The Governor has not only condemned the violence but has taken bold, strategic, and proactive steps to restore peace, deliver justice, and unite a state scarred by years of unprovoked terrorist attacks on innocent communities by bandits and ethnic melitia using AK47 rigles and other sophisticated weapons.

VDM’s attempt to politicize, ethnicize, and trivialize a lawful investigation into a reported crime — an investigation meant to establish the facts and protect innocent indigenous communities from unfounded reprisals — is not only ignorant but dangerously incendiary.

His outburst reeks of mischief, ignorance, and a cheap quest for social media relevance at the expense of truth and responsible public discourse.

The Cultural Middle Belt Renaissance Forum is appalled by his deliberate efforts to undermine the unity of Plateau people and by extension the Middle-Belt at a time when unity is needed more than ever. VDM, through his reckless rhetoric, has exposed himself as a psychiatric patient and has alao shown himself to be a divider, not a unifier; a misinformed provocateur, not an advocate for justice.

His statements suggest either a deep-seated ignorance or an unstable mind — or both. His behaviour is consistent with that of someone in dire need of psychiatric evaluation.

We hereby issue the following demands:1. Immediate Retraction: VDM must publicly retract the false and misleading statements he made against Governor Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State.

2. Public Apology: He must issue an unreserved apology to the governor and the citizens of Plateau State for his gross disrespect and reckless commentary.

3. Acknowledgment of Ignorance: He must admit his lack of understanding of the complex realities of Plateau State and pledge to refrain from commenting on matters far beyond his grasp.Failure to comply with these demands within 72 hours will leave us with no option but to pursue legal actions, petitions to relevant authorities, and other lawful avenues to hold him accountable for his verbal recklessness and public incitement.

We will also not hesitate to declare you “Persona non grata” in Plateau State and by extension the Middle-Belt region. We urge the public to disregard the venom-laced rantings of a man clearly intoxicated by the sound of his own voice.

We also call on security agencies to monitor individuals like VDM who spread hate, misinformation, and division under the guise of activism.

Plateau State will not be distracted. We stand with Governor Caleb Mutfwang. We stand with truth. And we stand against divisive merchants of chaos masquerading as influencers.
