Chairman of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority Chief Dr Amos Gizo has Demand an end to the Gruesome Killings of citizens of Plateau State and the destruction of properties.
Dr. Gizo, who is also the Coordinating Chairman of Chairmen of the Forum of 12 River Basin Development Authorities, as well Call for Unity amongst the people of Plateau State is reeling from recent the attacks in the state where over 46 innocent lives were lost in Zikke Village of Irigwe Chiefdom In Bassa Local Government Area of the State.
In a statement signed by the Amos Gizo Information and Resource Center and made available to News Men in Abuja, Dr. Gizo, strongly condemned the killings while calling for unity among political leaders to address the security challenges.
The attacks, which follow another devastating assault in Bokkos LGA where 52 people were killed and over 2,000 houses destroyed, have sparked widespread outrage and tension In Some parts of Plateau.
Dr. Gizo, an Elder statesman from plateau state is urging the State and Federal Governments to intensify security efforts to protect citizens.
“We must act now to protect our citizens, safeguard our communities, and build a safer future for all,” Dr. Gizo emphasized.
He called on Plateau stakeholders to support Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts in combating security challenges.
While sympathizing with families of the victims, Plateau State Government, Traditional rulers and the entire people of Bassa and Bokkos Council areas, Dr Amos Gizo, who is also Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) further suggested the establishment of reliable vigilante groups across affected communities in the state to bolster security efforts.
