Just In INEC Confirms Receiving Petition Seeking Recall Of Sen. Natasha As Kogi Women Protest In Front In Front Of INEC Office.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed receiving a petition from a group of voters seeking the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the Senate.

The petition was submitted by a group of people claiming to be registered voters from the Kogi Central Senatorial District, represented by Omole Charity Ijese, Chairperson of the Kogi Women Development Association.

In a related development, a group of women have equally staged a protest in from of the INEC headquarters to register their displeasure over the recall move which they said it’s ffake.

However, it is worth noting that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had previously secured a court injunction to prevent INEC from receiving or acting on the recall petition.

As at the time of filing this report, it was reported that INEC is currently holding a meeting in regards to the petition received.
