Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has presented the staff of office to Dr. Ali Danburam as the Ptil Madagali, marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to strengthen traditional institutions.
The coronation ceremony, held in Gulak on Wednesday was a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage, showcasing the rich traditions and customs of the Madagali people.
The colorful event featured a rich display of cultural heritage, including a grand procession of traditional title holders, cultural troupes, and a showcase of local arts and crafts.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Bauchi State Governor Bala Muhammad, that of Taraba Kefas Agbo, former Governor of Adamawa State Dr Bala Ngilari, The PDP National Chairman Alh. Damagun and representatives of the Lamido.
Adamawa state Governor, Fintiri urged the people of Madagali to support their new ruler in promoting peace, security, and economic growth.
He also highlighted the need for emirates and chiefdoms to foster unity and restore dignity, reflecting on the community’s resilience in the face of past challenges, including the Boko Haram insurgency.
Dr. Danburam, in his acceptance speech, pledged to provide selfless leadership and service to his people. The ceremony concluded with a grand durbar, featuring a display of traditional horse riding, music, and dance, marking the beginning of a new era of peace and prosperity in Madagali.
