Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has officially unveiled the newly remodeled Chillers, now rebranded as Chillers by Newyorker, marking a significant milestone in the state’s tourism and entertainment sector.
Located along Brewery Road, Chillers by Newyorker is a unique all-inclusive entertainment and relaxation center, featuring a gym, spa, bakery, Bush Bar, restaurants, a club, lounge, accommodation facilities, and a 24-hour supermarket.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held on Saturday, February 15, at the Chillers facility along Brewery Road, the Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, praised the initiative, describing it as a major boost to tourism and economic development not only in Plateau State, but the entire region.
The Governor while congratulating the visionaire, emphasized the importance of private sector investment in driving development.“It takes a great leap of faith to invest hard-earned money in Plateau State, and I am confident that such confidence will be greatly rewarded. This facility is a testament to the growth of our private sector and a signal that Plateau is ready for more investments.
“I congratulate the visionaries behind this project and dedicate it to the promotion of commerce and tourism in our state,” the Governor stated.
The visionary behind Chillers by Newyorker, Chief Kefas Ropshik Wungak, CEO of Kefiano Autos, described the facility as a unique all-inclusive entertainment and relaxation center.
According to Chief Kefas Ropshik, the facility is designed to be a one-stop location for leisure and business, showcasing Plateau’s potential and boosting its economy by attracting tourists and creating employment and the project has already created 150 jobs, positively impacting many lives.
He also stated that the idea was motivated by a desire to highlight Plateau’s potential and strengthen its economy by drawing tourists and creating jobs while also making Plateau a safer place by involving people in profitable initiatives,” he said.Commissioner for Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, Cornelius Doeyok, described the unveiling as a milestone in Plateau’s tourism sector, highlighting the state government’s efforts to prioritize tourism as a key driver of economic sustainability.
The unveiling event was a major spectacle, featuring performances by top Nigerian artists, including Tekno, Kokopee, and Blacksolo. With its state-of-the-art facilities and diverse entertainment options, Chillers by Newyorker is poised to become a leading hospitality hub, reinforcing Plateau State’s position as a premier destination for relaxation and tourism in Nigeria.
